WHISKEY TAPS Sitting here listening to nothing but the wind that passes with faint echo of taps. I close my eyes and see the formations below the stones. The parade that I am the only spectator. These men are my brothers; Our blood given away for one cause or another. Now I stand above ( just a broken toy ) They lay beneath ( rusted and forgotten ) I cross the stones with Irish whiskey and a toast. | Veterans are here | ||||||||||||||||
